6 Januari lepas, beberapa minggu selepas pelancaran Pendosa, kedai PeaceBeUponYou sekali lagi jadi tempat event cool.

Bukan your usual fashion show, ada spirit dan soul .

An experiment stage.

Aku pernah tulis definisi sendiri tentang Ipoh pada 28 May 2017,

Kalah kekasih gelap kau.,”

I stand corrected.

MAIN
Train ETS dari Ipoh – Padang Besar (Return): RM100
Van dari Padang Besar – Hatyai: 200Baht
Van dari Padang Besar – Krabi: 290Baht (Negotiable)
Van dari Krabi – Padang Besar: 300Baht (Negotiable)
Hostel in Krabi – Holiday Station: 220Baht per night (dorm)
Hostel in Hatyai – The Hive: 300 Baht per night (Dorm)

Day 1

1. Arrived at Padang Besar 5am. Immigration opens at 7am

2. Two options to get to Hatyai: Train or Van. We choose the van sebab first train jam 9pagi. Servis van dapat di stesen Padang Besar. There’ll be few taxi drivers, van drivers waiting at the café at the station. They gonna ask where you wanna go. But because we arrived at 5am, there was only one uncle and his rate is flat. You can also negotiate the rate here. It’s about 1 hour from Padang Besar to Hatyai.

3. From Padang Besar we were taken straight to Hatyai bus / van station. The moment you guys turun dari van, there’ll be other drivers asking where you wanna go etc. You can also negotiate here. The cheapest we got was 290Baht one way. The journey is around 4-5 hours of traveling. Depending on your driver. They will bring you to an R&R. Dekat sini ada jual makanan halal, ada surau, ada jual rokok and ada internet if you need one. They will stop here for about 15-20 minutes.
4. Arrived at Krabi station, again ada banyak tuk tuk to get you the town. For this trip, I choose to stay at the town but you can also stay in Aonang if you want the whole ‘lepak pantai’ vibe. From this station to Krabi town is about 60Baht and it’ll roughly cos about 100Baht if you wanna go to Aonang.

5. We book our hostel from Agoda.
6. There are a lot of halal food in Krabi town. If you are there from Monday to Wednesday, there is a halal food market with music performance. If you are there during any other day, don’t worry.

Day 2

1. Hari Kedua di Krabi is all about exploring the city. The reason why I choose to stay at Krabi Town was because I’ve been to Aonang for several times. So for this trip, I decided to do something differently.
2. Di Krabi Town, you guys can go to the Tiger Cave. Famous for being crowd favourite untuk
sunrise and sunset. BUT, kena naik tangga yang about 1237 steps. I’ve been there once,
memang penat tapi worth the view. Entrance adalah percuma. Boleh naik tuk tuk to go there.

25395076_10213506599833692_2084740213402613810_o

Wat Kaew Korawaram

3. Because I’ve been there one, I head to another temple instead. Wat Kaew Korawaram. Pun free entrance. I go to these temples to see the architecture and learn about other religions. Saja saja go sebab why not. And the temples are really pretty.
4. Another reason why I choose to stay in Krabi town sebab the food is cheap here compared dari Aonang. Kalau di Aonang, it’ll cost extra 30-40 baht. But Aoanang memang cantik.
5. Second day ni we wander around town and cari pakej to go snorkeling and island hoping. Top three paling famous kalau di Krabi adalah Phi Phi Island, Four Islands dan Emarald Pool. But, again sebab I’ve been to all of them, I choose to go to Hong Islands instead. Plus its cheaper (Ini adalah trip budget)

25398287_10213514534432052_8866500729639415541_o

Inside Wat Kaew Korawaram

6. But if you don’t mind spending extra, I’ll suggest Four Islands via Long Tail boat. Nak naik speed boat pun boleh but usually they cost extra 200baht. All island hoping and snorkeling packages comes together with lunch, snacks and snorkeling equipment.
7. So how to get cheap price: Negotiate. The Thais are very nice and polite so please do you negotiation in the same manner okay. Biasanya they will offer you half the price shown on the brochure. Contoh for this trip, I went to Hong Islands. Initial price was 1800Baht via Long Tail Boat, but as we go search around town, We managed to get 600Baht only via Long Tail Boat. I think its pretty cheap. But please note that if you wanna go to Hong Island tour, prepare another 300 Baht untuk entrance ke National Park.
8. There are a lot of reviews about the Thanbok Khoranee National Park. My personal opinion? I think its pretty and there’s a lot to discover.

Day 3

1. Hari ketiga ni betul betul untuk island hoping saja. Guide akan ambil di tempat kita tidur roughly around 7am and terus bawa pergi Aonang Pier. Kalau dari town, penjalanan dalam 20-30 minutes.

25627018_10213561409083889_2626040023151573819_o

Snorkeling at Thanbok Khoranee National Park

2. Selesai activity biasanya sampai jam 5 petang. So after cleaning up,we just stroll around town. Visit cool shops, eat street food dan lepak depan sungai. Kalau tinggal di Aonang, lepaklah pantai sampai malam.
3. We also went on to search for van heading to Hatyai. First Van biasanya jam 7 pagi. So we get that one. Harga boleh negotiate. Paling mahal we get was about 500 Baht dan cari cari dapat 300 Baht saja.

Day 4

WhatsApp Image 2018-01-03 at 14.12.551. Heading back to Hatyai via Van. Sampai je Hatyai we went on jalan jalan around Hatyai. Nothing much di town Hatyai unless you are into shopping etc.
2. Main attraction di Hatyai has got to be their Floating Market kat Khlong Hae. From the town to Khlong Hae is about 20-25 minutes, 60 Baht. So if you are looking for Pork, pun ada tapi di bahagian atas. Ada juga jual souvenirs, clothes dan macam macam lagi if you want.

26024190_10213584907831343_2791807487011517088_o

Khlong Hae Food Market

3. Ada certain tuk tuk driver akan offer to wait for you to finish your shopping and dining. Tapi they will charge you extra-lah. I didn’t ask ours to wait sebab banyak je tuk  available. Dari Khlong Hae back to our hostel rate sama je 60 Baht. We ended up lepak here the whole day sebab the vibe is nice here, ada music and kids performance. Macam pesta skala rendah.

Day 5

1. Hari pulang ke Padang Besar. Since masa pergi we opt for van, kali ni nak balik ke Padang Besar we choose the train.

2. Train cuma dua kali je sehari and the ticket is limited. Kaunter buka jam 8pagi tapi pukul 7 pagi dah ada orang beratur. And in fact, when we arrived at 8:30am, Cuma tinggal tiket berdiri sahaja.

3. Standing fee is 70 baht, one way, 1pm (Thai time)

4. Lepas beli tiket, we walk around the town visit pasar pagi to buy some last minute souvenirs and head to the train station at 12.

5. So here’s the one thing you need to know, kalau your ticket is standing, you gonna need to wait till all the seated passengers to enter the coach first, then the guard will allowed you to go in. And they aren’t punctual. Our train gerak at 1:15pm (Thai time) and arrived around 3:15pm (Malaysia time)

6. We arrived at Padang Besar station on Sunday. Despite the hectic crowd, immigration c unter at the station buka 2 kaunter sahaja. So you gotta scheduled your train right. The next train heading to Butterworth/Ipoh/Kuala Lumpur is at 3:30pm. Knowing this earlier, we purchased our ticket at 7:30pm. So selamat tapi bosan sikitlah menunggu sebab there’s nothing to do at the station. If you are up for it, boleh go to Padang Besar to see the town or to do last minute souvenir shopping.

Important note

1. Imigresen ada dua. Satu for the train passengers only. Another is you have to go up to level 1, lalu café dia dan kena lalu jejantas, turun naik tangga. So for those heavy packers, get ready ya.
2. Halal food is not a problem at all in Krabi and Hatyai.
3. I spent Rm500 /4000baht for this trip: Transportation, Accommodation, Food and Island Hoping
4. Pekan Krabi biasa senyap selepas jam 9pm tapi kalau di Aonang, night life dia meriah sedikit
5. Banyak lagi fancy places in Hatyai and Krabi but this is cheap trip, so we cut a lot of places.

Sorry if itinerary ini tak macamitinerary orang lain. I never done this before.

Oh and Have a fun trip!

So long Krabi and Hatyai

2018, Happier Dreams

Anehnya aku masih lagi disini kukuh bernafas seperti biasa.

Dan makan matcha ice cream all day everyday di Osaka

Koo Kee Old Town

sdr

Its always exciting to see new things in Ipoh especially when its not another cafe. Haha. I love food but I kinda want to see more of places to visit and explore. So imagine how happy I was when I found out about Koo Kee Old Town, a time-tunnel-like museum located at one of the busiest tourist spot in Ipoh, the old town of Ipoh.

Koo Kee was brought for the same guy who build the first time tunnel in Malaysia, uncle See Kok Shan. His first time tunnel is located at Cameron Highland and I’ve been there for a couple of time. The museum is one of my favourite place to go but its getting slightly crowded there. Now that we have one in Ipoh, I’ll definitely will revisit.

What do Koo Kee have? Old stuff. A lot of old stuffs that is guarantee to bring back some old memories of your childhood especially those who are born in the 70s, 80s and early 90s.

Uncle See divided the area into few different rooms. There is the typical old Chinese coffee shop where it has these old flowery flask, coffee grinder, old cupboard, tables and chair. There is also a section where he puts old school shoes, dated exercise books, abacus and classic stationery.

On my fourth visit to Koo Kee (told ya, I’ll keep on going. I’m a sucker for these things), I was given a chance to catch a glimpse of what Uncle See currently working on. On the third floor of this boutique museum, there will be a set up of how living room used to look like in old days. This is slowly become one of my favourite due to the details of the room. There were old portable tv, old sewing machines, wigs and more. According to Uncle See there is still few minor detailing left before the room is complete and I can’t wait to go visit again!

I must also mentioned about the ‘memory lane’ in the museum. Along the lane, you gonna see vinyls, cassette, CDs and old cameras. I couldn’t help but to feel slightly emotional when I see the cameras section because there are few old photos and those remind me of the time I saw pictures of my late grandparents. I bet if they are still alive, they probably would love going to Koo Kee and tell me stories about how it was back when they are still growing up.

DSC_8230DSC_8238DSC_8244

Koo Kee is located on the opposite side of Plan B. Its really easy to find because they are the only one who have blind woods. And on the ground floor of the museum is a shop selling customs wood furniture and Ipoh local 3 in 1 coffee.

Koo Kee open everyday except Tuesday from 9 a.m to 4:30 p.m. Parking miggghhttt be an issue but trust me, its worth it. There is no charging fee to enter KooKee at the moment but once Uncle See and his team finished the renovation, a small fee will be charge. So go there now!

Koo Kee Ipoh Old Town address: 23, Jalan Panglima, 30000, Ipoh, Perak.

To be at peace

WhatsApp Image 2017-06-28 at 15.11.06 (3)

I’ve been wanting to write about this for the longest. But time have made it hard for me to just be at peace and write about my feelings that I’ve keep for weeks.

Whenever I stumbled upon conflicts, my first action is usually to shut myself from everyone. I would leave messages unread, wouldn’t pick calls and be alone for a couple of days.  During that phase, I would either draw, play with my cats, catch up on tv or sleep. I would sleep longer than my usual days. Just sleep.

Then comes phase two. Talking it out with my bestfriends. These people, no matter how fucked up I can be or in to, they would just drag me back to life and tell me how to solve things without hurting my feelings. These people, I don’t know how on earth I could ever have them granted upon me. They would listen to my nonsense and virtually would be there because most of them are living far away.

Phase three is the waterwork phase. Which is me crying out of sudden and I would sleep crying. During the time, I usually don’t want to see people because the moment someone ask ‘Ili, What’s wrong’, I am 100% sure that I will burst into a crying machine.

After these phases, I’ll come to the realization of what I should do to solve it. Should I left it or should I fight for it. Most of the time, if the issue is with people, I usually would just leave it alone. Not because I want to run away from problems. But because some problems aren’t worth to fight for, some problem isn’t just black and white and some problems are just there to teach you a lesson.
b914850c74ad9487cd66715856eee4d2

And then, soon, I’ll reach to the final phase. Letting it go and be at peace. I’ve done this couple of time and it has work almost all the time. I’ve let go of that horrible guy I dated, I’ve let go of the time I could’ve work abroad, I’ve let go of the things that worry me, I let it go.

Everytime I let go of something, new things come up. New people come in. New hopes are bestowed upon and new paths are open from me. Its like what the saying goes, ‘When God shut a door, He opens another,”. I hold on to that.

I also don’t believe in holding grudges, so once I let that problem go, I let it all down. I don’t water it anymore and I let it die. Because some plants are weeds, taking up unnecessary spaces for more colourful and nurturing trees and flowers. Or maybe, the plant just doesn’t suits well with me, so its okay. let it live elsewhere that will treat them better.

Slowly but surely, thing will work out by itself. And that is what I’m doing now. Focusing on being a better version of me, loving and taking care of everyone I love and doing more things that I enjoyed. Life can be a horrible sometimes but I believe that God would only test you because He knows you can handle it.

wpid-gopr4214_1446301011293_low.jpg

Slowly, may all of us be better. Even if we know longer talk to each other. Cheers!
